Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Oncology Mitra treat cancer?
- No. We don't treat cancer and we never replace medical care. We complement your medical treatment with counselling, nutrition planning, therapeutic practices and community support.
- Who are the onco coaches?
- All our onco coaches are certified professionals with specialized training and experience in supporting people through cancer.
- Is my information confidential?
- Yes. Everything you share with your counsellor or in the app is confidential, as set out in our privacy policy.
- Can family members and caregivers use Oncology Mitra?
- Absolutely. Caregivers carry their own load, and our counselling, community and therapies are open to them too.
- How do sessions happen?
- Through the OM app — by video, voice or chat, whichever you're comfortable with.
- Where is Oncology Mitra available?
- We currently support patients, survivors and caregivers across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR, through the OM app by video, voice and chat. Our office is in Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow.
- Do I need a referral from my doctor?
- No. You can start without a referral. We will ask about your diagnosis and treatment stage so your coach can prepare, and we always work alongside your treating team rather than around it.
- Will you contact my hospital or oncologist?
- Not without your permission. We can summarise the supportive services you are using so you can share it at your next appointment, which we encourage — particularly for anything you are taking.
- Which languages are available?
- Tell us your preferred language when booking and we will match you with a coach accordingly wherever possible.
- Can I use Oncology Mitra after my treatment has finished?
- Yes, and many people do. The period after treatment ends is one of the most common times people seek support, when hospital appointments stop and the structure that carried them disappears.
