Oncology Mitra — We walk with you

Our Services

Survivor Mentorship & Moderated Peer Community

Moderated peer circles, survivor mentors, WhatsApp support groups and webinars — turning shared struggle into collective strength.

Much of what genuinely helps during cancer comes from people who have already lived it: what a side effect really feels like, how they told their children, what the week before a scan does to a household. The Oncology Mitra community brings that experience to you — safely, and with moderation.

Participation is optional and can be anonymous. Shared experience is not medical advice, and treatment decisions always belong with your oncologist.

Peer circles and support groups

Moderated circles in the OM app connect patients, survivors and caregivers at every stage — newly diagnosed, mid-treatment, in remission, or caring for someone. Caregivers have their own space. Circles are actively moderated: medical misinformation, cure claims, product promotion and anything encouraging someone to stop treatment are removed.

Survivor mentors

Where you want it, you can be connected with a survivor mentor — someone who has been through a similar diagnosis and treatment and has agreed to walk alongside newer members. Mentors share experience and encouragement; they are not clinicians and do not give medical advice. Mentorship is a peer relationship, and either side may step back at any time.

WhatsApp groups and your privacy

Some circles run on WhatsApp because that is where families already are. Be aware that in a standard WhatsApp group other members can see your phone number, and messages you send may be copied or forwarded. Where possible we use admin-moderated or broadcast formats to limit that exposure; joining is always your choice, you may leave at any time, and our Community Guidelines apply in every group exactly as they do in the app.

Do not post your reports, diagnosis details or another person's information in any group.

Webinars

Regular online sessions with clinicians, coaches and survivors on topics members ask for — managing a cycle, eating through treatment, caregiver strain, life after treatment. Webinars are general education, not personalised advice, and speakers stay within their professional scope. Attending never means you agree to be recorded; any recording or replay is governed by a separate consent you are shown before the event.

How it is kept safe

Trained moderators review reported content across circles, groups and webinars. You can report anything with one tap, and you can take part under a display name rather than your real one. If you are worried about another member's safety, use the report function so a moderator sees it quickly — community spaces are not continuously monitored and are never an emergency channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join a WhatsApp support group?
Through the community section of the OM app, where you can see which circles are available and opt in. Joining is optional and you can leave at any time.
Will other members see my phone number in a WhatsApp group?
In a standard group, yes. Where we can, we use admin-moderated or broadcast formats to limit this. If that matters to you, the in-app circles do not expose your number.
Are webinars recorded?
Only when a recording is planned and announced in advance, and only with a separate consent shown to you before the event. Attending is never consent to being recorded.
Can I take part anonymously?
Yes, in the in-app circles you can use a display name. WhatsApp groups show your number to other members.
Is the community included in every programme?
Yes. Group access to the moderated OM Community, survivor mentors and webinars is included in every support programme for the duration of that programme.
